The financial services market is going through a period of change perhaps unparalleled in its history - and the pace of that change is getting faster. The political environment is challenging and ever shifting, technology is enabling new business models to come to the fore and presenting new opportunities for expanding business, society is radically changing and the demographics of UK society mean new and different types of advice are required.
There has never been a more pressing need for the professional advice community to unite and make its voice heard. AIFA is the trade association for those who are professional advisers, for those who wish to see the highest standards of ethical behaviour in business, and for those who wish to see the advice profession held in the respect it deserves.
We represent your interests with policy makers in the UK and in Brussels to ensure the voice of the advice community is heard. We campaign on the issues that matter with the regulator and at the Treasury, always ensuring that our members views are taken into account by policy makers. We also lobby consumer groups and provide the media with a point of contact for all professional advisers. We campaign on industry matters and ensure that the profession's reputation is advanced.
Many of AIFA's members are the smallest advisory firms, focused on serving their clients' needs and building profitable businesses, our members do not have the scale of resources that the large banks and providers can muster to lobby for their business interest. AIFA's role is to represent the professional advice community, lobby the policy makers - and help members make sense of what any new policy proposals mean in their business.
